Mr. Shelman’s responsibilities included engineering consulting services and project management of contractors in the areas of construction, environmental, safety, shop floor management and heavy construction for manufacturers. The majority of these contracts involved product development and/or process and facilities layout and management with construction project management during construction for owners and lenders. These contracts often involved coordination with regulatory agencies such as EPA and OSHA, in addition to academic resources (universities, national laboratories), and private sector consultants and contractors.

Mr. Shelman assisted Kansas manufacturers in improving manufacturing processes, facility layout, and design and development of new products and processes, including governmental classification & consulting specifically in the areas construction, environmental and safety issues for manufacturing facilities.

Facilities Engineer, Pueblo West Diversified Industries, Pueblo, CO [1987-1990]
Mr. Shelman managed the maintenance and custodial departments as an overall facilities and plant engineer of assembly factory with approximately 175 employees including the managing of the engineering and maintenance departments. Mr. Shelman’s responsibilities included the plant's five buildings (nearly 500,000 sq. ft.), equipment and surrounding property, a fleet of vehicles and forklifts, and maintaining proper environmental and safety procedures.
